200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Nepal: Course Curriculum
Rooted in tradition and set against the sacred backdrop of the Himalayas, our 200-hour Yoga TTC in Pokhara Nepal blends Hatha-Vinyasa asana practice with pranayama, meditation, philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology.
Guided by India Yogashala’s seasoned teachers, the course deepens your personal practice while equipping you with the tools to teach confidently and authentically. Each day is thoughtfully structured to balance physical movement, mindful breathwork, and inner reflection—nurturing not just a teacher, but a more awakened self.
The journey inward begins here. Pratyahara, the fifth limb of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, invites us to draw our senses away from external distractions and toward the rich inner landscape of the self. Through the deeply restorative practice of Yoga Nidra—also known as yogic sleep—you’ll learn to access subtle states of consciousness that offer deep healing, release long-held patterns of tension, and rewire the nervous system. This module blends science and spirit to help you understand how conscious relaxation can become a profound tool for awakening.
Before energy can flow freely, the vessel must be cleansed. Shatkarma—yoga’s ancient detox rituals—are designed to purify the physical and subtle body. Learn the theory and safe practice of Neti (nasal cleansing), Tratak (gazing), and Kapalbhati (skull-shining breath). These kriyas enhance breath capacity, sharpen mental focus, and awaken your pranic energy. This module is more than physical cleansing—it’s a return to clarity, inner space, and vitality.
To walk the path forward, we must honour where it began. Delve into the historical, cultural, and spiritual roots of yoga—from its Vedic beginnings to its evolution into classical and modern forms. Discover how yogic practices were originally tools for self-realization, not just flexibility. Understand how colonization, modern wellness trends, and global transmission have shaped yoga—and why reclaiming its essence is a sacred responsibility for every teacher.
Yoga is not something you do—it’s something you live. In this module, you’ll explore the Yamas and Niyamas (ethical observances), conscious consumption, mindful speech, intentional rest, and the rhythm of daily life aligned with nature. Learn to integrate yoga into every decision—from how you eat and speak, to how you rest and respond to the world. This is the art of living in alignment: not perfect, but present and purposeful.
Every Sanskrit syllable carries vibration, meaning, and memory. Dive into the language of the Vedas, where sound is sacred and names are prayers. Learn correct pronunciation, transliteration, and the subtle resonance behind key mantras and asanas. Sanskrit is not just a language; it’s an invitation into the soul of yoga—a bridge between form and formlessness.
Teaching yoga is not about instructing poses—it’s about holding sacred space for transformation. This foundational module covers sequencing, class themes, voice modulation, hands-on assists, and the art of presence. Whether you are guiding beginners or advanced practitioners, you’ll learn to read energy, create safe containers, and teach from a place of embodied integrity and heart-centered wisdom.
The body is wise—and Ayurveda helps us remember how to listen. This sister science of yoga offers timeless tools to balance mind, body, and spirit through food, herbs, seasonal rhythms, and lifestyle rituals. You’ll learn your dosha (constitution), how to align your meals and habits with your inner landscape and the world around you, and how food can become medicine when eaten with awareness.
In Hatha, the dual forces of ha (sun) and tha (moon) dance together. This practice is about creating union through opposition: effort and ease, movement and stillness, body and breath. You’ll dive deep into classical Hatha asanas, explore their symbolic and energetic significance, and uncover how the philosophy of Hatha offers not just strength and flexibility, but also spiritual clarity and discipline.
Ashtanga yoga which originated in Mysore, India is now practiced the world over. This dynamic flow yoga teacher training will help you to work asanas into a structured yet intricate sequence of poses in tandem with “Ujjayi Pranayam”, a breathing technique. The “flow of breath” while performing asanas requires consistency and dedication. Furthermore, perfecting the Ashtanga series of yoga and imparting the same to the masses requires the perfection of this intensive practice. Ashtanga yoga teacher training in Nepal course helps you gain flexibility and keen focus to move in and out of yoga asanas in continuous motion.
Effective yoga practice is incomplete without the intervention of breath work or Pranayama. Pranayama includes varied breathing techniques conceived and practiced since time immemorial for detox purposes and to achieve mental clarity and healing. Pranayama’s philosophy rests on the notion that when our prana flow or energy channels are blocked, our bodies and minds experience imbalanced states. We may experience negative emotions and physical maladies if our energy channels are restricted.
These energy channels can be altered by the practice of pranayama and we may experience an abundance of health and enthusiasm to pursue our life goals. The 200-hour yoga TTC in Nepal will guide you through various profound pranayama techniques and the related science and physical advantages that you can accrue from these.
True understanding of the body goes beyond muscles and bones. In this integrative module, you’ll explore the physical anatomy of joints, fascia, and organs alongside the yogic anatomy of chakras, nadis, and koshas. This dual lens deepens your understanding of how asanas affect both structure and spirit—empowering you to teach safely and intuitively.
Each body is a universe. Learn the art of intelligent alignment, safe assists, and energetically sensitive adjustments. Through hands-on practice, partner work, and anatomical understanding, you’ll gain the skills to support students of all levels with compassion and clarity—while avoiding injury and nurturing empowerment.
Yoga is an ancient philosophy deeply rooted in age-Hindu scriptures dating back several thousand years. Today, yoga is looked upon as a combination of mind, body and soul. Such explorations of mind-body connections have philosophical connotations already elucidated in the Sutras of Patanjali and other Hindu scriptures. The yoga philosophy module as part of the 200-hour yoga TTC in Nepal will help to rewire and reorient your minds to experience how all things are interconnected. So, if you are looking for answers to understand your life’s purpose, India Yogashala’s yoga philosophy teachings can enlighten you and help you lead more blissful lives.
Mantras are not just words—they are living frequencies. Through the vibration of sacred syllables, you’ll learn to quiet the mind, open the heart, and align with universal consciousness. From Om to Gayatri, explore the meanings, correct pronunciation, and subtle impact of ancient chants. Chanting becomes an act of devotion, purification, and connection with lineage.
Meditation helps center your mind while relaxing your nervous system. However, this seemingly simple practice requires skill and dedication that can be aced as part of the 200-hour Yoga TTC in Nepal at India Yogashala. Experience yogic divinity through learning various techniques of meditation while undergoing the 200-hour yoga TTC in Nepal at India Yogashala. We invite you to visit our center for gaining a deeper understanding of yoga from a meditative perspective.

Weekly Schedule
Week 1
Week One is a gentle homecoming to your breath, your body, and your inner world. Foundational Hatha and Ashtanga practices ground you, not as routines, but as rituals of remembering. You move slowly, intentionally, learning the language of alignment and the meaning behind stillness. Ancient texts—like the Yoga Sutras—aren’t merely studied; they echo through your practice, felt in every pause. Yogic cleansing techniques like Neti and Tratak awaken you from within, while afternoons unfold into anatomy explorations and meditative reflections. This week is about unlearning, softening, and opening the gateway to deeper awareness.
Week 2
Week Two invites growth. Your body strengthens, your breath deepens, and a new confidence begins to surface. You move into deeper asanas—heart openers, twists, and inversions—with guidance that is both technical and intuitive. You begin assisting, learning touch as a form of trust and safety. Pranayama becomes a daily rhythm, while meditation evolves from technique into a lived state of being. You explore Ayurveda as more than a healing system—as a way of syncing with nature’s wisdom. Your voice emerges—shaky but sincere—as you begin guiding small practice sessions, stepping gently into the role of the teacher.
Week 3
Week Three is a threshold of transformation. You begin crafting your own flows, understanding sequencing not just as structure, but as poetry in motion. You experience the grounding of Yin Yoga, the creativity of Vinyasa, and the power of intention in every transition. You study the subtle body—chakras, bandhas, and energetic pathways—layering the physical with the spiritual. Peer teaching and mentorship become central, as collaboration strengthens your clarity and courage. You don’t just learn to teach—you learn to transmit.
Week 4
Week Four is your arrival. You step fully into your voice, leading full-length classes, holding space with integrity and heart. Practical modules on yoga ethics, business, and professional development prepare you for the world beyond the mat, while daily satsangs and sacred rituals remind you why you began. The backdrop of Pokhara—the still lake waters, the whispering peaks—witnesses your becoming.
You leave with an internationally recognised Yoga Alliance RYT 200 certification—but more than that, you leave transformed. Yoga becomes less about postures and more about presence. Less about teaching others and more about embodying truth.
This isn’t just a training. This is awakening. This is Nepal. This is India Yogashala.
