What is Aerial Yoga?

Where movement meets magic—and the earth lets you fly.

Aerial yoga is a playful and powerful fusion of traditional yoga and body movement in the air. Using soft, supportive hammocks, this practice invites you to explore postures with the help of gravity—deepening stretches, improving alignment, and lifting you into weightless inversions with ease.

It strengthens the body, increases flexibility, enhances balance, and builds a quiet confidence—both on and off the mat. More than just fun, aerial yoga is deeply therapeutic, offering emotional release, spinal decompression, and a renewed sense of freedom in the body and mind.

Whether you’re here to move differently or feel differently, aerial yoga opens space—for strength, creativity, and joy.

Why Choose This Aerial Yoga Training in India?

Because it’s more than learning to fly—it’s learning to teach with purpose, presence, and joy.

This 50-hour Aerial Yoga Teacher Training course gives you an internationally recognized certification that adds both credibility and creativity to your teaching toolkit. You’ll dive into the essentials—safe rigging, spotting, and how to confidently guide students through flows, flips, and inversions.

Each day blends hands-on aerial practice with strength conditioning, mindful alignment, and creative sequencing—so you not only move well but teach with clarity and care.

Whether you’re looking to expand your yoga offerings or simply explore a new movement language, this training helps you grow—personally, professionally, and even financially.

Ready to take your practice higher? We’re here to lift you—literally and figuratively.

Course Curriculum

A comprehensive journey from the roots of yoga to the air above—taught with care, creativity, and depth.

We begin by grounding your practice in knowledge. You’ll learn how aerial yoga emerged as a fusion of traditional yogic principles, modern movement, and creative expression. We’ll explore the deeper purpose behind the practice, the energetic systems involved, and how aerial yoga fits into the broader lineage of yoga.

Safety is foundational. You’ll be guided through the correct setup of aerial hammocks, types of rigging equipment, ceiling anchors, weight limits, and essential daily checks. We’ll also cover how to adjust height, create a safe space for students, and troubleshoot common setup challenges.

Build your practice from the ground up. You’ll learn a full range of postures—from beginner-friendly shapes to advanced holds. We break down alignment, muscle engagement, benefits, and contraindications of each pose, so you understand the “why” behind every movement.

One of the most exciting parts of aerial yoga—flying upside down! We’ll teach you how to approach inversions safely, how to transition smoothly between poses in the air, and how to master flips with control and awareness. Progressions are offered so you feel supported at every level.

Discover the stillness within the suspension. You’ll learn breathwork (pranayama) techniques and guided meditations tailored for the hammock—practices that regulate the nervous system, calm the mind, and ground the body after aerial sequences.

Learn how to create meaningful, safe, and flowing class sequences. We’ll cover class structure, theming, peak pose planning, and how to adapt sequences for different student levels. You’ll also practice using your voice—how to cue effectively, hold space, and build your unique teaching style.

Support is essential when students are off the ground. You’ll practice spotting techniques for key postures and learn how to offer verbal and hands-on adjustments (where appropriate). We’ll also cover creative modifications to make aerial yoga accessible to all bodies and abilities.

You’ll get real-time experience teaching in a supportive environment. This includes leading warm-ups, guiding full sequences, offering cues, and receiving feedback. Your final assessment includes a practical teaching demo and a short written reflection to complete your certification.

Lifetime experience! The teachers, space and intentions are perfect. I have learned a lot and felt well trained to become a Yoga Teacher. All along, the teachers took care of the students and we never miss anything. I highly recommend this school in Goa, in nature. The food is delicious and abundant and rooms are very comfortable! It felt like home. The group became family. Memorable experience!

Praveen & Shiva are excellent yoga instructors, supported by others it makes a fantastic team. Second best way to learn something is to take a course, best way is to teach one. Here they teach you how to teach so its quite cool. Plus Rinku makes really nice food & the beach is nearby. The AC accomodations are about next door to the ashram and Grishma Desai is a superb Ayurveda expert. Worth it!

The 300 hours Yoga Teacher Training here was wonderful. We had amazing alignment classes with Santosh, fun and great Ashtanga classes with Praveen, who also took care of all our needs in a friendly, professional and caring way, and the Ayurveda course with Dr. Grishma was so interesting! There was also morning meditation on the rocks, included dolphin excursion and Indian cooking class with our friendly chef... I would go back in a heartbeat to Agonda and to the school and I can only recommend it 🙂
