Week 1
Get ready for a transformative journey of self-discovery and mental, physical healing through the sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda. We begin the first week with Hatha Yoga teachings with the purpose to lay a strong foundation of the body and spirit through the practices of the foundation yoga poses. During this week, we focus on powering up the joints and bones to perform the Pavana-Mukta-Asana Series. You will also learn how to pay homage to the Sun with Surya Namaskar to acquire balance in the body and mind.
With references from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, we will guide you through the Yogic Philosophy, with an introduction into the Shat Darshana and the spirit of Yoga.
We move towards Yoga Chikitsa (therapy) during the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga classes. The outcomes of Hatha and Ashtanga immersions are augmented with Pranayama (breath work) and Meditation (dhyana) clases. During these classes, you acquire the ability to connect with the inner-spirit to perform the asanas with spiritual invigoration.
Week 2
From here, you begin your journey as a Yoga Instructor as we work on prana regulation (breath work) and achieving strength, agility, and balance during the Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga classes. Enter the state of ultimate stability (the sthira-sukham asanam) where your mind, body, and spirit establish complete harmony and balance. We further move into more variations of the Ashtanga poses under the sitting, prone, and supine categories.
The Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga classes are combined with lessons on Yogic anatomy and alignment techniques for an in-depth understanding of the internal and the external mechanism of the body and to ensure that you perform each posture without sustaining any injuries.
We move further into the Yogic Philosophy to explore Sankya Yoga, the eight limbs of Yoga including the yamas (what not to do) and niyamas(what to do), asanas (physical practice), pranayama (breathing exercises), pratyahara (withdrawal), dharana (concentration), dhyana (meditation) and samadhi (union with God) from the origin, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
Week 3
By this week, you shall complete the nadi purification and your body and mind will be ready to perform more intense Pranayama practices.
You will explore Taratak, Ajanta Japa, and Chidakasha Dharana during the meditation classes which will help you establish a connection with the spirit and put you on the path of spiritual awakening.
We would move into the advanced asana practices of Hatha Yoga & Ashtanga Yoga art forms and you will become stronger and more flexible in your asanas while being able to perform meditation with ease.
Week 4
The last week of 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Mysore, India marks the beginning of your journey as a yoga teacher of authentic skill sets and the finesse of a true yogi. The week is dedicated to honing your postures and achieving perfection in acquired learnings of Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga forms.
