There is no journey more profound than the path into motherhood. This heart-led course at India Yogashala is a sanctuary of learning and remembrance—an invitation to honour the body, emotions, and spirit of both mother and child through yoga. Whether you’re a yoga teacher seeking to deepen your offerings, a doula or therapist wishing to hold space more intuitively, or an expecting mother drawn to the wisdom of movement and breath, this course welcomes you.

Designed to nurture as much as it educates, the training unfolds entirely online, allowing you to learn at your own rhythm, in your own sacred space. Rooted in tradition and adapted for modern times, every module is infused with care, covering everything from safe asana practices to emotional support and energetic awareness.

Upon completion, you’ll receive a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education (YACEP) certification—affirming not just your knowledge, but your capacity to walk alongside others during one of life’s most tender and powerful transformations. This isn’t just a course; it’s a gentle revolution of love, presence, and purpose.

Why Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Matters

Because motherhood changes everything—your body, your breath, your being.
This practice meets you where you are and grows with you.

Most beautifully, it deepens the quiet, sacred bond between you and your baby.

It’s more than yoga. It’s care, connection, and coming home to yourself.

Course Curriculum Overview

At India Yogashala, we begin by honouring the beauty of pregnancy through yoga. We explore how to support expectant mothers with presence, compassion, and a deep understanding of their journey.

We dive into the miraculous changes a woman’s body experiences during pregnancy. You’ll learn how to align your teaching with the natural rhythms and needs of each trimester.

We guide you in adapting yoga postures for every stage of pregnancy. You’ll discover how to create practices that are safe, empowering, and deeply nourishing for both mother and baby.

We teach techniques that bring calm and clarity. From pranayama to guided meditation, we help you support emotional wellbeing and inner connection during this powerful time.

We explore the emotional landscape and subtle energy shifts that arise in pregnancy. You’ll learn how to hold space with empathy and guide women toward balance and strength.

We support the sacred return after birth. You’ll learn gentle, healing practices that rebuild core strength, calm the nervous system, and reconnect mother and child through breath and movement.

We show you how to structure meaningful classes. With heart-centered teaching tools and intuitive planning, you’ll feel confident guiding prenatal and postnatal groups or individuals.

We help you integrate everything you’ve learned. Through practice teaching and feedback, you’ll refine your skills and step forward as a nurturing, knowledgeable teacher.

Lifetime experience! The teachers, space and intentions are perfect. I have learned a lot and felt well trained to become a Yoga Teacher. All along, the teachers took care of the students and we never miss anything. I highly recommend this school in Goa, in nature. The food is delicious and abundant and rooms are very comfortable! It felt like home. The group became family. Memorable experience!

Praveen & Shiva are excellent yoga instructors, supported by others it makes a fantastic team. Second best way to learn something is to take a course, best way is to teach one. Here they teach you how to teach so its quite cool. Plus Rinku makes really nice food & the beach is nearby. The AC accomodations are about next door to the ashram and Grishma Desai is a superb Ayurveda expert. Worth it!

The 300 hours Yoga Teacher Training here was wonderful. We had amazing alignment classes with Santosh, fun and great Ashtanga classes with Praveen, who also took care of all our needs in a friendly, professional and caring way, and the Ayurveda course with Dr. Grishma was so interesting! There was also morning meditation on the rocks, included dolphin excursion and Indian cooking class with our friendly chef... I would go back in a heartbeat to Agonda and to the school and I can only recommend it 🙂
